get "SQL Server does not exist or access is denied" error when I tried to connect to MS SQL database on your server?

The information in this article applies to:

This error indicates that Enterprise Manager cannot make a connection the remote SQL server.
Check the followings
- Make sure you are using MS SQL Enterprise Manager 2000. SQL 7.0 Enterprise Manager is not compatible.
- Make sure TCP/IP is select as the connection protocol
- Make sure your firewall or router is not blocking port 1433
